phoenix|x-ray reports record sales for 2006 - Innovations secure future growth
13.03.2007 -
With a total of 200 X-ray inspection systems sold worldwide, a great number of new applications and service customers and an increase in sales of 25% to 32.5 million Euros, the year 2006 saw a lot of growth and success for phoenix|x-ray, the international leader in microfocus and nanofocus® X-ray inspection systems.
For CEO Helmut Appelt, the secret to the company's continued success lies in the mix: “The great variety of high-quality, state-of-the-art products ranging from in-house programmed software to custom designed hardware, an excellent sales team and outstanding customer support worldwide - all contribute to our continued, international success.”
A great number of technological innovations enabled phoenix|x-ray to further strengthen its market position and to set new standards in 2D and 3D X-ray inspection and computed tomography.
High-resolution Computed Tomography
February 2006 saw the launch of the nanotom®, the first 180kV nanofocus® CT-System specifically designed to meet the requirements of materials science, micro mechanics, electronics, geology and biology. The nanotom® comes standard with an 180kV high-performance nanofocus®-X-ray tube (HPNF tube) and a digital 5-Megapixel detector enabling voxel resolutions of <500 nm. In September of 2006, phoenix|x-ray was awarded the Global Technology Award by Global SMT & Packaging Magazine for the nanotom® in the category „Best Inspection/X-ray System“. „Receiving this award proves our strong position in the market“, says CEO Helmut Appelt.
phoenix|x-ray sets new standards in X-ray inspection
But the nanotom® was not the only addition to phoenix|x-ray's product range in 2006: The microme|x, a high-resolution X-ray inspection system that affords submicron resolutions was also introduced.
At the end of last year, in an independent poll conducted by E&E magazine of its readers, the microme|x came in second runner-up for the „E&E Best Products Awards“ out of 51 innovative products in the category „Manufacturing and Automation“.
The microme|x is the economically optimum solution for both the manual and automatic inspection of solder joints and electronic assemblies and comes standard with the new high-performance 180kV X-ray tube and new generator technology, 2-Megapixel digital camera and a 24“ display. This unique configuration makes the microme|x the inspection solution of choice for an even broader range of applications in process control and failure analysis.
Worldwide Growth
2006 also saw the opening of the phoenix|x-ray Demo and Applications Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, featuring the latest in phoenix|x-ray 2D and 3D X-ray inspection technology and computed tomography. A highly qualified and motivated team of applications and customer service engineers offer professional 2D and 3D X-ray inspection solutions.
phoenix|x-ray did not only invest in technological innovations: More than 100 dedicated phoenix|x-ray employees worldwide are now assisting customers with sales, applications, customer service and more contributing greatly to the ever-growing success of phoenix|x-ray.
And last, but not least, in December of 2006, phoenix|x-ray.com was relaunched. The new internet presence features a new design, easy-to-use navigation menu, more information and a greater range of services.
Plans for 2007 include even greater investments in technology and product development, human resources, and new locations- promising yet another year of continued growth and success.
