The nanotom® of phoenix|x-ray

Wunstorf/Germany. phoenix|x-ray has supplemented his range of high resolution computed tomographs with the new compact system nanotom®. The nanotom® is the first 160 kV nanofocusTM computed tomography system which is tailored completely to applications in the material science, micro mechanics, electronics and biology.

The complete construction of manipulation, detector and X-ray tube was created for the special needs of the high resolution computed tomography. The very compact system consists of a granite based CT-construction with a 160 kV high-power nanofocusTM X-ray tube of phoenix|x-ray and a special digital detector to reach a voxel resolution of < 500 nm (0,5 µm). The fully digital detector has 5 Megapixel and a measurement range expansion for the highest possible resolution.

With the nanotom® samples can be examined with diameters up to 120 mm and a weight up to 1 kg. The special door construction as well as the advanced sample fixture permits a simple and precise positioning of the samples.

The new CT-software datos|x of phoenix|x-ray offers an easy and intuitive operation and requires only minimal training. The high efficiency of this software guarantees best image quality and volume reconstruction at all times. An optionally available PC cluster provides further reduction of reconstruction times.

The nanotom® is particularly suitable for the 3D examination of sensors, complex mechatronic samples, micro electronic components and material samples in every type like synthetic materials, ceramics, composite materials, rock samples and much more.

On the APEX in Anaheim (08.-10.02.06, Stand # 2317) phoenix|x-ray presents the nanotom® to the public for the first time.
