phoenix|x-ray, the world-wide operating manufacturer of microfocus and nanofocus X-ray systems with headquarters in Wunstorf/Germany, despite the poor economic situation on the world markets managed to increase its turnover again in 2002. Sales and services totalled EUR 18 millions which means a plus of more than 15% compared to the previous year - an improvement that is way above the industry´s average. According to independent sources phoenix|x-ray has thus taken over the leading position amongst the European competitors.
This encouraging achievement is based on the fact that a diversification of business scopes has taken place and the once again the benchmark to offer individual solutions for each customer has been held high.
The export quota of the company rose to over 80% which is a sign for the well functioning sales and service network that has been built up in the first three years of the company´s existence.
The central sales team has been expanded to nine employees with every sales manager being responsible for a certain region and certain key account customers. More than 30 representations offer global support and sell phoenix|x-ray`s X-ray systems. That way an intense and personal approach with short response time is always guaranteed. phoenix|x-ray Inc., the US subsidiary in Camarillo, California, is employing five sales managers and two service engineers to host the US and Canadian markets.
The product portfolio has been extended by the “bench|mate”, a novel type of bench-top system, and the ml|inspector auto registration that has been launched in October is complementing the range of systems for bare board inspection. Many existing solutions have been further improved and have been equipped with additional features, e.g. the “dual ovhm|module” which offers the oblique view at highest magnification with both a conventional image intensifier and the high-constrast|detector.
Helmut Appelt, managing director of the phoenix|x-ray group of companies is heading the future with an optimistic approach. He says “with our new group of products that will be available from March 2003 on we are going to offer another high-end tool for the non-destructive testing of electronics and micromechanical devices. We are convinced to be able and meet the requirements of new target groups in which non-destructive testing with high magnification is gaining importance at present.”
