The German based phoenix|x-ray Systems + Services GmbH looks back with satisfaction to the past financial year, 2001. In its third year of operation the company was able to increase turnover by 46% from 19,9 to 29,0 Millions DEM and thus has now achieved its best financial results. Along with the completion of the new production and administration complex in Wunstorf (near Hanover) the number of employees rose from 32 to 40. phoenix|x-ray has subsidiaries and branch offices in Camarillo/USA, Stuttgart/Germany, Quezon City/The Philippines and utilises a network of nearly 40 representatives world-wide. The enterprise now exports almost 70% of its products.
The company´s product portfolio now comprises microfocus and nanofocus X-ray systems and X-ray tubes and dedicated application software. The contract inspection service departments have also enjoyed growth and have become a powerful and efficient branch of business that is being used frequently by an increasing number of customers. Particularly appreciated by the customers are the quick response times for maintenance and repair requests on phoenix|x-ray and third party systems.
In 2001 phoenix|x-ray launched numerous “industry first” products including the xs|100 nf nanofocus X-ray tube, the pcba|sentry for fully automated inspection of BGAs and CGAs, the ml|analyser xl for oversize printed circuit boards, the package|analyser nf for the inspection of electronic packages with submicron image resolution, the high-contrast|set with a 14-bit grey scale for weakly contrasting materials, the low-dose|mode to protect samples from unnecessary X-ray radiation and many application orientated software modules and upgrades. The company is especially proud of products developed for specific customers which have later been converted to standard products. This, in particular, shows the company’s market led approach.
Participation at more than 30 trade shows world-wide has been the ideal platforms to demonstrate the capability of phoenix|x-ray´s X-ray systems.
Plans for the year 2002 are to install a new subsidiary in Austria that is meant to serve the South-East European markets. In contrary to the current trend in the electronics industries phoenix|x-ray is still hiring employees. Information on job opportunities can be found on this webpage.
