New laboratory for X-ray inspection services

The Centre of Microtechnical Manufacturing at the Dresden University of
Technology, Germany, has become the third associated laboratory to offer X-ray
inspection services with phoenix|x-ray equipment. The currently installed system
is a pcba|analyser with a 160kV X-ray tube for high-resolution,
high-magnification X-ray images.
The institution that is connected to
the Electronics Technology Laboratory (head Prof.Dr.-Ing.habil.Wilfried Sauer)
at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is being
managed by Dipl.-Ing. Dietmar Daniel who is also in charge of conducting the
inspection services and is doing field research in X-ray inspection of
electronic components.
Head of the chair for Procedure Technology of
Electronics is Prof. Klaus-Juergen Wolter, a leading authority in the field of
interconnection technologies.
The new location is aimed to specially
serve customers in the central and eastern German provinces.
